Morning Bins

Each morning, we have some quiet time to play with morning bins and be creative. These morning bins contain objects like legos, lace-ups, dominoes, scrabble tiles, linking cubes, foam shapes, and plastic cups. Each morning there is a different bin on each table. Ask your child which morning bin is their favorite!

Mystery Readers

Thank you Mr. West and Mrs. March for being our Mystery Readers this week! We enjoyed all the books both of you brought to read to us! Thank you again for taking time out of your afternoon to spend with us!

STEM Spider Web Bridges

We did another STEM activity this week. The students worked in teams of three or four to build a bridge using four cups, yarn, and tape. The goal was to get as many linking cubes on the bridge as possibly. The kids did a great job working together in teams. The most linking cubes that one bridge held was forty-nine cubes!

Mystery Reader

We were so excited to welcome our very first Mystery Reader on Friday. Ms. Ginebra came into our classroom, read lots of books and even played a couple games with us! Thank you so much for spending part of your afternoon with us Ms. Ginebra! We look forward to our next Mystery Reader!

STEM Slingshots

We got to do our first STEM activity this week and it was all about designing your own slingshot. There were six teams. On Thursday, each team had to design their own slingshot and draw up their blueprint. On Friday, each team was given two popsicle sticks and three rubber bands. They had fifteen minutes to build their slingshots before we tested them. We used pom poms to slingshot and measured each distance. Team five won with their pom pom going 165 inches. It was a great experience with working as a team and having fun being engineers. Below are pictures of the planning stage, the building stage, and the testing stage.

Panther Peer Leaders

This week, we had a great time with our seventh grade buddies! We got to go outside and write subtraction and addition problems with CHALK! After we were done with our work, we got to play tic-tac-toe or play on the playground. We look forward to spending time with our buddies every week!
