Apples

This week, we finished our unit all about apples! We created apple books while learning about the life cycle of an apple, the seasons of an apple tree, apple observations, and our five senses. We also discovered whether an apple sinks or floats and made our very own applesauce!

Happy Last Day of Summer!

Centers

We enjoy participating in our reading centers every morning. We have fun playing SuperKids on the computers, spelling games on the iPads, playing word work games, and reading in the loft and library. We get to take part in every center at least twice a week. Check us out in action during center time!

Thank You!

Thank you to the families who donated items from our Amazon Wish list for the classroom. I'm looking forward to sharing these books, markers, and games with the children.

Apples

Last week, we learned about the life cycle of an apple, the seasons of an apple tree, and we even made an apple glyph! We tasted different colored apples and graphed the results. We are looking forward to learning more about apples this week!

When I Grow Up...

This week, the kids wrote about what they wanted to be when they grow up. It was so fun and interesting to see what everyone wrote about! Ask your child what they want to be when they grow up, we had some great answers!

Panther Peer Leaders

Every Wednesday, our Panther Peer Leaders come into our classroom to help us with our math journals and to play math games. The Panther Peer Leaders are seventh grade students at St. James Cathedral School. This is a great opportunity for us to come together to learn and have fun with our partners. This Wednesday, we played a math game that included counting and addition skills.
